- Summarize, describe characters, identify theme and story events
- Understand point of view
- Understand how the author supports his/her writing
- Combine 2 informational texts to speak and write knowledgeably
While writing students will be asked to:
- Produce clear, organized narrative pieces
- Produce well developed informative/explanatory pieces
- Produce strong persuasive/opinion pieces
- Use correct conventions: capitalization, punctuation, and spelling
- Understand and integrate figurative language into their writing
While speaking students will be asked to:
- Engage in collaborative discussions
- Give oral presentations
